CHELSEA RUMORS OVER NAPOLI FRONT MAN PIATEK

CHELSEA have been offered a positive update in their pursuit of Genoa front-man Krzysztof Piatek with Napoli declaring that they will not be drawn into a bidding war.

revealed last week that the Blues are keen to recruit the Polish striker and will target him in the upcoming January transfer window.

With Olivier Giroud yet to score a goal and Alvaro Morata’s confidence vulnerable, Maurizio Sarri is keen on the in-form 23-year-old - who could cost around £40million although Genoa could even demand as much as £60m.

Piatek has yet to play without scoring for the Serie A side this season, with nine goals in seven Italian top-flight matches and 13 goals in eight games across all competitions.

They are likely to face competition with Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Bayern Munich and even Barcelona having kept tabs on the forward - the first player since 1994-95 to score in all of his first seven league games in Italy - this term.
