There is nothing more exciting than looking forward to the weekend and the football fixtures. Even if your own team is not playing, the fact there are many football matches on and betting markets opening for business is thrilling.
However, deciding on which football matches, teams and markets to bet are not always easy and that’s where we come in to play.
ENGLAND
ARSENAL VS LIVERPOOL
After seeing their 11-game win streak (all competitions) ended last weekend with a 2-2 draw at Crystal Palace, Arsenal now face a real test of their credentials against a Liverpool team they haven’t beaten in six attempts (D3, L3).
Sitting in fourth ahead of the round (W7, D1, L2), Arsenal’s games have been good value for money this season with 3.7 goals scored per match – the second highest ratio in the league. Seven of their league games have also produced over 2.5 goals.
Arsenal have a problem in the first-half however, with just six of their 24 league goals scored in the opening 45 minutes, and subsequently failing to lead any game at half-time this season. Arsenal also like to score in quick succession, with two goals scored five minutes or less apart on five occasions this season.
After taking 26 points from their first ten games (W8, D2), Liverpool have equaled their best start to a Premier League (PL) season alongside 2008/09, when they finished second.
Scoring four goals against Cardiff last weekend, Liverpool are averaging two PL goals per game this season, but down from last campaign’s 2.21. Nevertheless, only Manchester City have conceded less than the four Liverpool have let in, after conceding 16 at this stage last season. TIP:GG(BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE) |
BOURNEMOUTH VS MANCHESTER UNITED
High-flying Bournemouth remain one of only four teams unbeaten at home (W3, D2) in the Premier League (PL), with the others being the top three of the week prior to this match. With Manchester United teams scoring on each of their last four visits to Dean Court, and winning both visits under Jose Mourinho, they undoubtedly threaten that record here.
Sitting sixth, much of the hosts’ success has come from attacking quickly and with purpose, as evidence by the fact that they have scored 2+ goals in four of their five PL home matches thus far. Across all competitions, the ‘Cherries’ have been winning at half-time in each of their six home victories this season.
Eighth-placed United have been unpredictable at times, although high-scoring games have been common, with 80% of United’s league fixtures so far producing over 2.5 goals (a league high) and/or seeing both teams score.
Both teams to score? While the visitors have scored exactly two goals in four of their last five away league games, they have kept just one clean sheet. United have also won four of the previous six PL encounters (W4, D1, L1), with the Manchester outfit winning at half-time in four of those. |
