LIVERPOOL VS ARSENAL MATCH PREVIEW

Tonight's match is the 229th meeting between Arsenal and Liverpool. The Reds have won 89 of the games while Arsenal have managed 79 wins for themselves and the other 61 ended as draws.   If Arsenal comes away with three points this Monday, Mikel Arteta will become the first Arsenal manager to win his first match at Liverpool since Tom Whitaker in 1947. Fenerbahce have signed Aston Villa striker Mbwana Ally Samatta

  Mbwana Ally Samatta has left Aston Villa for Fenerbahce on loan, according to a statement on the Turkish club website . Fenerbahce has  already announced this morning  that they have signed the 27-year-old striker on a four-year contract. S amatta joined Villa from Belgian club Genk in the January transfer window for a fee reported by  the daily mail  to be worth £8.5 million. The Tanzania international striker made 11 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League  for the Villans during the second half of last season, scoring one goal in the process . Samatta could not really make an impact at Villa in the second half of last season, and there is no surprise that the Villans have decided to severe ties with him. Arsenal have signed goalkeeper Alex Runarsson

Arsenal have signed goalkeeper Alex Runarsson on a four-year deal contract from Ligue 1 club Dijon. Runarsson will wear the number 13 shirt and is expected to deputise for first-choice goalkeeper Bernd Leno, replacing Emiliano Martinez who left Arsenal for Aston Villa in a deal worth £17m.

  Noel Whelan has labelled Aston Villa to sell January signing   Mbwana Samatta a ‘waste of money’ as he nears a move to Fenerbahce. Speaking exclusively to  Football Insider  assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Coventry City forward urged Villa to cash in on the Tanzanian forward. Turkish outlet     reported that Samatta had agreed to join Fenerbache on a season-long loan with an option to make the deal permanent next summer.
